This week our Willow View youth are at Camp Canyon in Hinton, OK, at Camp Next. I’m sure they’ve enjoyed a momentous week – though another hot one! Tonight is their last night in camp, and they will be back with us tomorrow afternoon.
Please be in prayer for all of them as they close out this week of camp and “re-enter” their world at home. Many important decisions are made every year at church camp. Some students surrender their lives to Jesus; others re-commit their lives to Him with greater passion, and some even receive a call to ministry. We all need to encourage all our young people to live for Jesus every day! We, too, must lead by example.
Summer is officially half over – just a few short weeks before we’ll be gearing up for a new school year. If you are a parent of youth (6th through 12th grades), we’re inviting you to a special parents meeting this coming Wednesday, July 22, at 6 p.m. in the Parlor to discuss youth ministry sponsored by our SPRC. I plan to be there, too. We want to hear your thoughts, suggestions, encouragement and ideas so we can build on the momentum of summer camp as we move forward. Please plan to join us for this significant opportunity.
Our youth are not only our future but our present reality, too. We have only a few short years to equip them to live for Jesus before they’re out from under our daily care. We’re here to come along side of you in this God-ordained mission of reaching your kids for Christ. I Timothy 4:12 reminds us, “Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for other believers in your speech, behavior, love, faithfulness, and purity.”
We love our Willow View children and youth. Our children will be at camp next week.
Love you, too!
