I am THANKFUL for …
When life is not fair, how can we be thankful? We can truly be thankful when we rely on the power of God and not our own power. Why should I be thankful? Because it is an act of worship to our God and Creator!
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – I Thessalonians 5:16-18
Happy Thanksgiving!
Love you,
Pastor Mark
P.S. Advent begins this Sunday, Nov. 30. Join us each Sunday as we prepare to celebrate Jesus’ birth into our world and our hearts.
I am THANKFUL for …
- The taxes I pay, because it means that I am employed.
- The clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have enough to eat.
- A lawn that need mowing, leaves that need raked and gutters that need fixed, because that means I have a home.
- The mess to clean up after a party, because it means I have been surrounded by friends.
- The parking spot I found at the far end of the parking lot, because it means that I am capable of walking.
- All the complaining I hear about our government, because it means we have freedom of speech.
- My huge heating bill, because it means I am warm.
- The lady behind me at church who sings off key, because it means that I can hear.
- The piles of laundry and ironing, because it means my loved ones are nearby.
- Weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means that I have been productive.
- The alarm that goes off in the early morning hours, because it means that I am alive.
When life is not fair, how can we be thankful? We can truly be thankful when we rely on the power of God and not our own power. Why should I be thankful? Because it is an act of worship to our God and Creator!
