You've Been Prayed For

By Pastor Mark McAdow
If you are a current member of Willow View Church or an active attendee, “You’ve been prayed for.” Do you feel blessed?  You sure should! Last evening a faithful group of 16 folks gathered in our sanctuary and prayed for each Willow View individual, couple or family by name. It was a gift of love as we engage in this New Year.

I think I heard a pastor (your pastor!) say last Sunday that three great “R” goals for 2024 would be to: Rediscover the Book, Restore your prayer life and Reconnect with your Willow View family. We’re well on our way!  Hope you will join us.
I’m excited about a brand-new opportunity that is right before us.  Beginning this Sunday, I’ll begin a new series, “Get Healthy,” looking at seven key areas to get healthier in 2024 based on the study  "Transformed."  This is a 50-day challenge. We’ll focus our attention over the next seven weeks on getting healthier:  Spiritually, Physically, Mentally, Emotionally, Relationally, Financially and Vocationally. Sound interesting? Need help in some of those areas?  We all do.
We begin this Sunday morning, Jan. 14, and follow up with a video teaching by Pastor Rick Warren and a small group on either Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in the parlor or Wednesday evenings in the sanctuary from 6 to 7:15 p.m.  Books are available for $15 each or $25 for a couple and will be available this Sunday (just came in yesterday!).  Be sure to sign the list this Sunday for Tuesday morning or Wednesday evening and get your book.
Growth in life always requires effort.  You can coast through life and never grow; but you can’t coast and stay the same.  If you’re coasting, you’re going downhill, away from your goal and from your God.  There are many ways to grow; I hope you will choose to “grow with us” over the next 50 days.  I know you will be blessed.  God isn’t looking for perfection, He’s simply looking for sincere effort.
Our theme verse is Romans 12:2, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is -- his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Have a blessed day.  Be sure to dress warmly this Sunday;  it sounds like it’s going to be really cold! Brrr …
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Mark
PS: You’ve got mail, too, Check your mail for your end-of-year giving statements.  Thanks for your great faithfulness to Jesus and Willow View!
