Today is the Dayt

By Pastor Mark McAdow
Today is The National Day of Prayer! It’s always the first Thursday in May. What a wonderful opportunity for Christians across America to stop to Thank God and pray for our Nation. Our Enid Ministerial Alliance is hosting this event at the Courthouse gazebo downtown. It begins at 12 noon and lasts until 12:45 (still time for a quick lunch!). I’ve been asked to pray for The Churches of Enid during the Prayer gathering today, along with other City leaders who will also be praying. If able, I hope you will take time out today to pray with us!

America, our World, Oklahoma, and Enid need prayer! Prayer is the means God uses to allow us to be involved with Him, in the joys and challenges of this world. Jesus intercedes for us and The Holy Spirit prays on our behalf as well. We are called to prayer. “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need.”- Hebrews 4:16. Christians are to pray and not give up!

Our World is at war – Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Iran- to name a few. President Trump and Vice-President Vance and their Cabinet need Divine wisdom and discernment in their decision-making on our behalf. Our Nation is so highly divided. We desperately need unity as Americans. As Christians, we know Jesus is the Ultimate Answer!

One day, the LORD appeared to King Solomon and said, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”- II Chronicles 7:14. Notice He was addressing His people- that’s us today! Christians. If Christians don’t pray; we cannot expect God to act. But if we do- He promises revival!

Let’s commit to daily, heartfelt prayer. This Sunday for Mother’s Day, my message is entitled, “Pray Like Hannah!” Come discover genuine prayer as we celebrate our Moms!

Love you,
Pastor Mark

PS: Thanks to Robin, Kathy, and Amie for organizing our visiting Rapid Response Team’s meals and to EVERYONE who gave money, cooked food, and served our guests with Christ’s love! I’m so very thankful for you all!
